Alaartsoewer campsite is situated a few km’s outside of Rawsonville in the Western Cape. This campsite consists of 5 campsites all covered in green grass and boast some spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Each campsite has a gazebo to give you some shade or protect you from the rain. There is also a braai drum and dustbins located at each campsite. You can arrange in advance to get firewood from the camp itself. Savva could join us for the weekend as the campsite is pet friendly. Each campsite has its own splash pool to where you can cool down on those hot days. The campsite also has private ablution facilities that is all located in a central ablution block. There is a river that runs past the campsite however it is a seasonal river and might not be in flood when you visit.

On the farm self there are hiking trails and you can also cycle on the farm roads. The views of the surrounding mountains are impressive and there is a play area where the kids can enjoy themselves. The town of Rawsonville in also nearby where you can visit some farmstalls and wine farms. We enjoyed our stay at Alaartsoewer and this campsite is ideal for a weekend breakaway.
