Buffelsrivier Camping, Laingsburg, Western Cape

We are off to Buffelsrivier campsite near the town of Laingsburg in the Western Cape. This scenic and well looked after campsite really offers a lot for campers and explorers. My last two stays at Buffelsrivier I was fortunate enough to stay at the By-die-Dam camp. This beautiful campsite is located next to a dam and is ideally suited for groups that camp together. The camp is covered in lush green grass and s rather spacious. It will easily take 5 cars and camping trailers without it feeling cramped. You also have a nice big fire pit where you and your group can relax around. Surrounding the campsite you wil also find 220V electrical outlets as well as taps and dustbins. The ablution facilities are in great condition and well maintained and gas geysers ensures that you always have hot water when you want to shower. At the ablution area there is also a scullery area where you can wash your dishes and a freezer where you can purchase ice and meat from the camp itself. You can also purchase firewood from the campsite.

Just below the the By-die-Dam campsite you will find the Oewer campsites that are perfect for families and campers looking for a weekend breakaway from city life. They will easily accomodate 2 cars and 2 trailers on each stand and once again it is in perfect condition. SOme of the stands are covered in grass while others have a gravel covering to give you that Karoo feel. All these stands also have access to 220V electrical outlets and water. Each one is also equipped with a fire place.

Then lastly you also have the option to do wild camping on the farm itself. Yu will take a 4x4 route that follows all along the river and leads you to various off grid wild camping spots. These stands require you to be totally self sufficeint and is really an awesome way to get back in touch with nature. You can even do some camping at the ou klipstoor. This might be a great option if you want to do wild camping but the weather is not playing along.

Buffelsrivier is a must visiy destination and any campers dream. You really get the feel of the Karoo as you spend time at the great campsite! Watch the video for the full review of Buffelsrivier Camping!
