Jackalberry Ridge Resort, Marloth Park, Mpumalanga
We had a awesome stay at the impressive Jackalberry Ridge campsite in Marloth Park just outside of the Kruger National Park. Jackalberry Ridge has 2 private campsites each with its own private lapa area and private ablution area. The facilities are in excellent condition and well looked after. You really get a world class feel from the campsite. At each site you have access to electricity in the form of 220V electrical outlets and a blue caravan plug. The ablution area is modern and spacious and even has a open air hot water shower for those hot days. Just outside of the lapa area you will find a raised built braai with a movable and a fixed braai grid. Behind the braai area you have your own private splash pool where you can relax and cool down when the heat gets to you. One great thing that I love about Jackalberry ridge is the fact that the wildlife roams free in the camp. It is awesome having these beautiful animals walk around you as you sit and relax at your campsite. The resort also has glamping tent options if you don't feel like camping and each one also comes with its own private pool and braai area. You can also relax at the communal swimming pool under one of the covered seating areas while the kids can play in the pay area or jump on the trampoline.
Marloth Park itself is a fully functionong town in the middle of the bush. You will find many restaurants and shops that can keep you busy for hours. There is also a few lookout points over the majestic Crocodile River and you are almost assured to see some of the animals come down to drink on the Kruger's side. In town you will find a supermarket and a feul station so all you needs are covered to ensure that you a have comfortable stay. We had a great time at Jackalberry Ridge and it is a great place to stay if you want to explore the southern side of the Kruger National Park but not stay in the park itself.
