Lake Marais is situated about 130km's from Cape Town and a mere 20km's from the town of Worcester. This makes it a great destination if you are looking to escape the Cape Town city life for a bit. The campsites are located near the edge of the Brandvlei dam and all of the stands are right next to each other. The stands have a paved area where you can park your trailer or caravan and then a grass area where you can pitch your tent. Each campsite will only take one trailer at a time. On your stand you will alos find two hammocks and your own private hot tub. A great touch was that the hot tub was already heated when we arrived. You also have a private ablution area on your sttand with a modern feel and it was truly well kept. Inside is a flush toilet and hot water shower. The dam also gives you the oppertunity to do some fishing or take a swim on the hot summer days. If camping is not your thing, you can stay in the self catering chalets that you can find on the premises. The campsite is also pet friendly and Savva had a ball of a time chasing her ball around the whole weekend. Be sure to watch the video for a full look at what Lake Marais has to offer.
