Sonwyserskop, Piketberg, Western Cape

Sonwyserskop is an amazing campsite in the district of Piketberg. It is a huge camp with 20 campsites. You will camp on thick green grass. Each campsite has access to a three point power point and a tap with fresh water. Only one group gets to book the camp. The group determine rules regarding music and pet friendly. This is the ideal camp for a big family camp or a church camp or a group of friends with children. The big tees provide ample shade through out the day. This is probably the best play area I have seen on any campsite. The floor is lava!!! You can even host a soccer match here. There are two semi-circles with campsites and a big entertainment area in the middle. You can easily seat 50 people or more at the braai area. Besides a big central braai area there is also 4 individual braais and lots of working space. The ablutions are spacious, modern and neat. Big groups can make use of a fridge and freezer. There is a small area that is covered if the weather turns bad. You can buy firewood from the management. There are hiking trails up the mountain and you can also bring your mountain bike. The huge dam is the perfect place for kayaking and swimming. All in all this is a great campsite and I can definitely recommend it.
