Doringlaagte, Montagu, Western Cape

Doringlaagte is situated about 7km outside of Montagu and truly is a must visit destination. It is a tar road lead up to the farm turn off where you follow a very good gravel road to the camp itself. It is easily accessible by a sedan car.

The resort consists of different blocks of campsites. There is truly wide variety of campsites to choose from each offering something unique and special. The centrepiece of the resort is a large dam and the campsites and chalets are scattered around the dam with some being next to the dam while others might be a bit further back. Some of the campsites are island sites and your camp is almost completely surrounded by water. The sites are all spacious and covered in lush green grass with trees providing you with shade throughout the day. On the edge of the resort you can also find private sites where you are separated from other campers.

The dam offers a lot of activities including canoeing, fishing and swimming. Although there are many swimming pools scattered throughout the campsite to ensure you stay cool and refreshed during your stay. A big attraction is surely the Karoo Beach and the Karoo Beach Pub. This beach area will almost transport you to a tropical island while you can sit at the Pub and enjoy a cocktail. There is even two heated swimming pools at the Karoo Pub Area. There is quite a few hiking and biking trails on the farm to explore and enjoy. The kids will also stay entertained for hours at the kids play area and for those keen golfers among us there is even a golf green with 9 tee boxes scattered around it. If you enjoy 4x4 driving you can explore the 4x4 track as well.
