Marthinusrust, Clanwilliam, Western Cape

Marthinusrust is a great and fairly new campsite 25 km form Graafwater and in a westerly direction from Citrusdal. The camp offers two campsites next to each other on a farm. Both the campsites have a view of the dams. It is interesting to watch the farm animals come down for a drink of water. The campsites are covered with green grass and trees offers shade. Each campsite has private ablutions, a fire pit and tap with drinking water. There is a table with seating outside. This is the ideal place to go to if you have a friend who wants to tag along but do not want to sleep in a tent. Inside the building is a double bed, just bring your own bedding. There is also a fridge/freezer and kettle and microwave oven and place to charge your devices. The ablutions are modern and clean and very spacious. The campsite was cleaned on a daily basis. A nice touch is the extra toilet outside. Then you do not disturb the person sleeping inside.

You can do hiking on the farm or motorcycle riding on the farm roads or mountain biking. Most of the drive is on tar, but the last couple of kilometres is a grave road. We were warmly welcomed on the farm and enjoyed our stay there very much. Peace and quiet gets a new meaning here. We loved to just sit back and relax and enjoy the view.
