Melkhout Guest Farm, Bonnievale, Western Cape

Melkhout Guest Farm is situated just over 10 km from Bonnievale in the Western Cape. This scenic campsites consists of 5 stands each with its own private gazebo area and private ablution facilities. The stands are nice and spacious, you will easily fit at least 2 cars and 2 camping trailers on each site. All the stands are covered in green grass and there was even a row of bricks embedded in the ground to indicate where water pipes run to ensure you don’t accidently puncture one. Each site has its own gazebo area with a wooden bench and wash up basin. At arrival you even receive a gift basket containing unpasteurized milk, butter and freshly baked bread. There are also lights in and around the gazebo area. You will also find 220v electrical outlets at the gazebo as well as your private ablution area, consisting of a shower and flush toilet. Next to your gazebo area you will find a big fire pit and firewood can be purchased from the campsite. The facilities where really in pristine condition. The farm also has some self-catering options availible if you do not want to camp.

The stand are aal on the edge of the river. This makes it perfect if you want to cool down in the river or spend some time canoeing down the river and you can rent canoe and kayak equipment from the farm itself. You can also spend some time fishing in the river and try and hook your next big catch. The surrounding area of Bonnievale has some interesting farm stalls and wine farms to keep you entertained and the town of Robertson is not far away. I can recommend Melkhout Guest Farm to anybody.
