Wyzersdrift Campsite, Rawsonville, Western Cape

Wysersdrift is a campsite on a working farm in the Breede River Valley. It is a smaller camp with only a few campsites. This makes it the ideal break away if you want peace and quiet. It is easily accessible with only a couple of hundred metres of gravel road form the tar road to the camp. You will receive a code for the security gate. All the campsites are situated next to the river. The river is seasonal though and was not that full when we camped there. The campsites are covered with grass and there are enough trees to provide shade for the hot summer days. The ablutions are neat and clean, and every campsite has a braai drum. You can buy firewood from the management. The camp is pet friendly, so your furry friend can join you. Rawsonville is very close by, and you can easily drive there to get basic needs. We enjoyed relaxing next to the river. You can take an easy walk to the nearby dam where you can do some fishing. The surrounding mountains complete the picture and at nighttime you gaze at the thousands of stars.

There is a lot of wine farms in the area. Do go visit them and taste some of the delicious wines that you can find in the area. We also have a couple of favourite restaurants in the area that we love to visit. Both The Ou Meul and Enchanted Oak restaurants are pet friendly. We just love to have a brunch at one of these restaurants.

The camp is only 100km from Cape Town, which makes it the ideal weekend escape. You can even leave Cape Town after work and still enjoy a good weekend.
