Middelberg Campsite, De Doorns, Western Cape

We had a great stay at Middelberg campsite situated 40km from De Doorns in the Western Cape. The campsite is nice and remote and you have to drive a 4x4 road to access the camp. The camp self is nestled into a valley and surrounded by trees. There are four main camping areas to pitch up camp. Two of them are more spacious than the other two. All the campsites are nice and level and will have shade for most part of the day. Some sites are covered with grass while others have a hard gravel area. There’s no electricity at the campsite so you will have to pack those solar panels if you want to keep your batteries charged. The ablutions are very neat and tidy with flush toilets and hot water showers. The hot water is provided thanks to a donkey. Firewood is also provided for the donkey. In front of the ablution area you will find a dam where you can cool off in on those hot summer days. The farm also has cycling and hiking routes on it, for the adventurers among us.

We truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend you give it a visit. Watch the video below to see out full review of Middelberg campsite.
